Officially registered...
I currently can’t even run 2 miles without stopping, but I’m at least limitedly convinced that in June, I’ll be able to run 13.1. Today, I officially registered for the Seattle Rock and Roll Half Marathon.
Who in their right mind thinks I’ll be able to run that far (at one time) six months from now?
Dearest Jesus, Thank you for the swift kick in the a$s that led to this...

back pain = new shoes?
Major lower back pain so i only made it .37 miles in the pouring rain with both pups. it was depressing and painful.
Note to self - don’t take the pups running anymore. They’re horrible and not worth it.
According to my sister, who I hear is about to start tumbling, I need new running shoes. Any expertise out there? How do you know when you need new running shoes?

i'm a glutton...
…a glutton for punishment today, apparently. i’m headed over to Alki Beach to log a few miles and i’m taking BOTH pups with me today. Here’s hoping they behave themselves at least a little :)
then later, i’m settling in to read Blue Like Jazz, the first of at least 12 books I’m going to read this year.

it's 6 p.m. and freezing outside...
…but i’m still hoping to log a few miles. Would it be cheating to drive down to the water and run from there so as to avoid the hills?
Update: 2.07 miles completed in 33:30 min. I had to walk a bit more than I’d hoped, but it felt good. This makes for 3 days in a row. Woo hoo!

30 by 30
last Thursday was my 29th birthday. it stirred up a wealth of emotions and got me thinking about what used to think my life would look like at 30. when i was a kid (or heck, even a high schooler), 30 seemed so old. Of course I’d be married and have kids by 30. I don’t have a master’s degree, don’t own any property, have never been in love, don’t know exactly what I...

THIS would never happen in texas
a guy friend asked me to his company Christmas party last weekend.
He’s a good friend and his Christmas party was fun the last time i went, so I said yes. Not a date, but you know.
Beforehand, he asks me if I’d like to have dinner with a couple of his work friends at this really expensive restaurant. He notes that because of his awesome company, entrees are buy one get one free....

25 Days of Christmas - Day 2
it’s untraditional, but I love it. Glee’s remix of Deck the Halls and Up on the Rooftop. A delightful addition to my holiday CD this year! so peppy and fun!
PS i’m making round 1 of my holiday gifts tonight — homemade lemoncello. i’m excited!

good news, bad news
the good news is - it looks like i’m finally over the mysterous south american bug that i got on my whirlwind last minute trip to Cartagena, Colombia 2 weeks ago. sucks that it was during thanksgiving though. no no bueno at all.
the bad news is - that my nike+GPS runs aren’t syncing with my nike+ account anymore. they used to, but they’re not anymore. anybody know what the deal...
